Not everything valuable should be monetized.

Turning something you love into a source of income changes it. What was done freely acquires targets, an audience, and the obligation to continue on days you do not want to, and the part that made it valuable is often the first thing lost. Some things pay you in a currency the market cannot handle.

If you are considering monetising something you love, ask what you would lose and whether you have somewhere else to get it. Keeping one thing unproductive is worth more than it sounds.
