Making things helps you figure out what you think. You don’t need the answer before you start.

CREATIVITY
You do not have to understand something before you start working on it. Making is a way of finding out, since choosing words, shots or notes forces half-formed impressions into something definite enough to examine. Waiting for clarity first means waiting indefinitely, because clarity is usually a product of the work rather than a condition for it. Confusion is an acceptable place to begin.
Begin something this week about a thing you have not worked out yet. Let the first version be exploratory and allow it to contradict itself. Read it back afterwards to find out what you apparently believe.
Have you ever found your opinion only by making something?
