Open the hive too often and you stress the colony. Checking constantly isn’t the same as caring.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Checking has a cost. Every time the lid comes off, the bees stop working and spend hours repairing the disturbance, so a beekeeper who looks constantly is harming the thing they are worried about. Anxious monitoring feels like diligence from the inside and reads as interference from the outside. Care sometimes means leaving a thing alone long enough for it to grow.

Find the thing you keep checking and give it a schedule instead. Once a day, once a week, a fixed time. Between checks, let it be, and spend the attention you free up on work that actually moves.
