You don’t have to love the task. You have to respect what happens if it doesn’t get done.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Motivation is an unreliable supply, and much of what needs doing will never be enjoyable. What works more consistently is a clear view of the consequence: the dishes multiply, the deadline arrives, somebody else has to cover for you. Respect for that outcome gets things done on days when enthusiasm is nowhere. Waiting until you feel like it is how backlogs form.

Take the task you keep avoiding and write down plainly what happens if it stays undone. Keep it factual rather than dramatic. Then do it from that reason alone, and notice that the feeling never arrived and it got done regardless.
