Learn to work well with people you don’t like. Most jobs don’t let you pick.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Liking someone and working well with them are separate skills, and most jobs hand you the second problem whether you want it or not. The useful move is to narrow what you need from the relationship: clear handovers, no surprises, basic courtesy. You do not have to resolve your feelings to be reliable with somebody. Treating this as a craft is more peaceful than hoping for a different roster.

Pick one person you find difficult and lower the stakes to something practical. Decide what you need from them and say it plainly once. Judge the week by whether the work went smoothly rather than by whether you enjoyed it.
