Respect the people who taught you the basics. A lot of what you’re “naturally good at” was taught.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

What feels natural is often just well taught and long forgotten. Somebody showed you how to hold a pencil, sound out a word, catch a ball, sit still in a room, and that teaching has disappeared into the sensation of simply being able to do it. Mistaking the result for a gift makes you less grateful and also less able to teach. Almost every ability has somebody’s patience inside it.

Pick one thing you are good at and trace back who taught you. Tell them, if they are reachable. If they are not, pass the same thing on to somebody who does not have it yet.
