If you’re the most experienced person on a shift full of new hires, your habits become the training manual.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Experience makes you the example whether you want the job or not. New people have no reference point, so they copy whoever has been there longest, down to the shortcuts and the tone you use with customers. You do not get to teach one standard and work to another. The habits you actually have are the ones being learned.
Pick the corner you cut most and straighten it for a week, knowing someone is watching. Then say one useful thing out loud to a new hire about why you do it that way. Being copied is easier when the thing copied is right.
Who is learning the job by watching how you do it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
