Most dancers wait years before a teacher says they’re ready for pointe. Readiness isn’t a feeling, it’s a foundation.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Readiness is structural rather than emotional. Years of slow work build the ankles and the control that make pointe survivable, and no amount of wanting it shortens that, which is why a teacher’s judgement outranks your impatience here. The same holds for any skill with real consequences underneath it. Feeling ready and being ready are two different measurements.

Ask somebody who knows what is still missing, and ask for the answer in terms of what to practise. Work on that instead of on the permission. Foundations are slow, and they are the only thing that holds.
