If the dog keeps pulling, ask what pulling keeps earning it. Same question works on your habits.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Behaviour carries on because it is getting paid. The dog pulls because pulling has reliably produced forward motion, so the question is never why it is stubborn but what it keeps collecting. Your own habits work the same way: the scroll gives relief, the late start buys comfort, the skipped practice avoids feeling bad at something. Finding the payment is how the pattern changes.

Take one habit you dislike and ask what it hands you in the moment. Then look for a cheaper way to get that same thing, and put it somewhere you will reach for it first.
