In ballet, the slow adagio can be harder than the big jumps. Control is a skill hiding in plain sight.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Slow is harder than fast, and it hides that well. A jump is over before much can go wrong, while a long controlled movement exposes every wobble and leaves nowhere to hide, and the strength it takes is unglamorous and rarely applauded. That is why control stays rare even among people who practise constantly. The flashy thing is often the easier thing.

Take whatever you usually rush and run it at half speed this week. Hold the position, finish the sentence, slow the handover. Wherever it falls apart is exactly what speed has been covering for you.
