Discipline doesn’t mean never drifting. It means you notice sooner and come back faster.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nobody holds a line continuously, and the belief that other people do is what makes a lapse feel final. What separates a steady person from a drifting one is not the absence of slips but their length: noticing in two days rather than two months, and coming back without a ceremony. Drift is the normal state of every habit. The skill is the return.

Check once a week whether anything has quietly slipped, before it has time to settle. When you find something, restart it that day at a smaller size rather than waiting for Monday. Count how quickly you came back instead of whether you left.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

How long does it take you now to notice you drifted?
