You can bring God your anger before you bring him your forgiveness. He’s patient about the order.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being told to arrive at peace before you are allowed to speak keeps a great many people silent. Honest anger is not a disqualification, and the order people assume is required, calm first and conversation afterwards, is not actually demanded of you. Forgiveness takes however long it takes. Showing up furious and truthful is a real place to begin rather than a failure to begin properly.

If something is sitting unspoken because it feels too raw, say it this week in whatever words you actually have. Write it down if saying it out loud is too much. Let the sorting out come later, in its own time.
