Some Sundays you won’t feel anything. Show up anyway. Faith isn’t the same as a feeling.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Flat weeks are normal and they are not evidence of anything. Feelings arrive on their own schedule, and if you only turn up when something stirs, you have handed your commitments over to your mood. The practice is what holds the shape when the feeling is away. That is true of training, friendships and faith alike.
Go this week on a week where you feel nothing, and go without auditing yourself at the door for whether you deserve to be there. Pay attention to what is said rather than to what you are feeling about it. Dullness is not the same as absence.
Would you still go on a week you feel nothing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
