Someone younger is watching how you treat people. That’s mentoring whether you signed up or not.

You are being copied whether or not you volunteered. A younger sibling, a kid on the team, somebody two years behind you at school, is watching how you speak to people who cannot do anything for you. They are not noting your opinions. They are noting your tone with waiters, your reaction when you lose, who you make fun of when you think it is safe.

Pick one of them this week and assume they are watching, because they are. Then change the one behaviour you would be uncomfortable to see repeated back at you in a year.
