A quick prayer for the ambulance that passes you is a gift to a family you’ll never meet.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Somebody in that ambulance is having the worst hour of their year, and you will never learn their name or how it ended. Praying for them takes four seconds and gives you nothing back, no update, no thanks, no story. That is close to the purest form of caring there is, because none of it can be about you. It also changes what sirens do to you over time.

Do it the next time one goes past this week. Four seconds for whoever is inside and whoever is being telephoned about them right now.
