The person running slides only gets noticed when they mess up. That’s what faithful usually looks like.

Some roles are structured so that competence is silence and only failure makes a sound. Get every slide right and nobody knows you exist; miss one and a whole room turns around. That asymmetry is not unfair, exactly, but it is worth understanding before you take a job like that, because the reward is never going to be recognition. It is going to be the thing running properly.

If you are in one of those roles, find somebody else in one this week and thank them by name for something specific. Then keep doing yours unnoticed.
