Jesus spent part of His last night washing feet. The towel was never beneath Him.

Status normally travels downward in one direction only, and that evening it went the other way. Someone with every reason to be served picked up the towel instead, on the last night available to him, and the gesture was not a stunt. Nothing useful is beneath you. The instinct that says certain jobs are for other people is worth distrusting whenever it appears.

Do one job this week that you consider below your position. Wash up at the end, clean the thing, carry the load. Do it without making a point of it to anybody present.
