Doing chores without being asked is ministry nobody puts on a flyer.

Housework has a nagging economy attached to it. Somebody notices, somebody asks, somebody resists, somebody does it badly out of resentment, and the task itself was never the problem. Doing it before anybody has to ask removes the whole transaction and leaves only the help. It is a small test of whether service is something you do when watched or something you do because you can see what is needed.

Pick the chore that normally requires three reminders and do it unprompted this week. Then do not mention it, and resist the urge to be owed anything.
