Saying “I’ll pray for you” is kind. Asking “can I pray with you right now?” is braver.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Offering to pray later is kind and it is also an exit. You say it, the moment closes, both of you move on, and quite often nothing happens afterwards. Asking whether you can do it now, here, in the corridor or the car park, is a much more exposed thing to offer, because they might say no and you have to mean it immediately. That is the whole difference between a sentiment and an act.

Ask the braver version once this week. Short, out loud, with their name in it, and accept a no gracefully.
