A church potluck works because nobody brings the whole meal. Nobody’s supposed to carry the whole mission alone either.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
The whole arrangement depends on nobody attempting the entire meal. One person trying to cook for forty would produce a worse dinner and a wrecked cook, which is obvious with food and strangely invisible everywhere else. People take on whole projects alone, refuse offers of help, and then resent the others for not doing more. Partial contributions are not a failure of commitment. They are the design.
Find the thing you have been carrying by yourself and hand one piece of it away this week. Ask a specific person for a specific part, then let them do it their way.
What are you carrying alone that was meant to be shared?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
