Grace doesn’t mean being a doormat. Jesus forgave people and still walked away from some crowds.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Letting go of a grudge is not the same as making yourself permanently available. The example includes both: forgiving people freely and leaving rooms where staying would cost more than it was worth. The two are compatible, though people argue otherwise when they want continued access to you. Kindness without limits stops being kindness and becomes a supply.

Name the person who treats your patience as unlimited. You can hold no grudge against them and still be busy on Friday. Practise one short, unapologetic no this week, with no explanation attached to it.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where have you confused being kind with having no limits?
