Carrying more than you need is not a sign that you expect to fail. Four spare stones is what a sensible person brings when the first try might miss. People confuse preparation with pessimism, then skip it to prove how sure they are. That is not courage, it is an excuse for not revising.

Work out the realistic version of what could go wrong this week and bring something for it. The spare kit, the backup charger, the extra half hour before the exam. Then go in and expect it to go well.
