Praying for a parking spot and praying for your enemy are both allowed. One of them will change you.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nobody is policing the size of what you ask for, and small requests are not an offence. But the two are not equivalent in effect. Asking for a parking space leaves you as you were; asking something good for somebody you resent does not, because you cannot do it long without softening. The second kind works on the person doing the asking.

Keep the small ones if they help you stay in the habit. Then add one hard one this week, with a name attached to it. Give that a fortnight before you decide whether anything is happening.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which of your requests are convenient and which would cost you?
