Praying about a decision doesn’t mean waiting for skywriting. It means bringing God into the thinking.

GRATITUDE
Waiting for an unmistakable sign is often a way of avoiding the work of deciding. Expecting something dramatic lets you postpone indefinitely and call it patience. The more useful version is holding the decision up while you reason through it: what it costs, who it affects, what you would tell a friend. Clarity usually comes out of thinking rather than instead of it.
Write the decision at the top of a page and list what you know under it. Talk it through out loud, including the part you have been avoiding. Then choose, and stop waiting for a confirmation that was never coming.
Who have you left out of a decision you keep turning over?
