The friend who grabbed your phone before you sent that text deserves more credit than they’ll ever get.

Prevention leaves no evidence behind, so the person who stops a disaster never gets properly credited for it. Nothing happened. The text was not sent, the fight did not start, the friendship survived, and there is no scene to point at as proof of what they saved you. That is the thanklessness built into being the sensible one in a group.

Tell that friend what you think would have happened without them. Then be willing to be that person for somebody else, including the moment when they are annoyed at you for it.
