When someone forgives you, don’t rush past it. Being given a second chance is a gift, not a reset button.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Being forgiven is harder to receive well than people expect. The temptation is to treat it as erasure and move quickly past the uncomfortable part, which converts something costly into a formality and means nothing changes. A second chance is handed to you by somebody who could reasonably have declined. The way you honor it is by being different, not by being relieved.
Say a proper thank you rather than hurrying on. Then change the one specific behavior involved, and expect to have to prove it over time rather than in a sentence.
Whose forgiveness did you accept too quickly to feel it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
