Not everything that happened to you was good. Some of it still taught you things you’d never have signed up to learn.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Learning from something hard does not make the hard thing a gift. Both can be true at once: it should not have happened, and you now know how to read a room or leave early because of it. You did not choose it; you ended up carrying something useful out of it.

You are allowed to keep the skill and still call the event what it was. If it helps, name one thing you can do now that you could not before, without calling it luck. And if what you are carrying is heavier than it is useful, that is worth saying to somebody you trust.
