Before your stop, the bus driver already checked the brakes, lights and tires. Safety you never see is still safety.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Most safety is a list somebody worked through before you arrived. Brakes tested, lights walked around, tires pressed, mirrors set, all of it in an empty vehicle in the dark with nobody watching. Work that only shows when it is skipped is almost impossible to appreciate from the inside.

Look for the unseen checks in your own week: inspection stickers, fire doors, somebody testing a thing before you use it. Then do your own version: tire pressure on your bike, the smoke alarm battery, the brakes on the car you drive. Being the person who checks is how you join the arrangement instead of just benefiting.
