A porch swing is proof that going back and forth with nowhere to go can still be a good evening.

GRATITUDE
Movement without progress has a bad reputation it does not deserve. A swing covers no distance, achieves nothing, and holds an evening perfectly well, which quietly disproves the idea that time only counts when it goes somewhere. Rest looks like inefficiency from the outside. From the inside it is the part of the day that was yours.
Find the back and forth you can actually do: a swing, a walk around the same block, shooting at the same hoop, a bike along the same street. Do it for half an hour with no target and no tracking. If somebody asks what you got done, you are allowed to say nothing.
What do you do in the evening that goes nowhere?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
