Somebody fixed a mistake you made without making a big deal of it. That’s grace. Return it.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Somebody can cover your mistake in two ways: quietly, or in a way that makes certain you know it was covered. The second arrives as a bill. The first costs the same effort with nothing attached, which is why it is worth recognising, because sparing you the embarrassment as well as the consequence was a real choice. Quiet repair is the generous version.
If that was done for you, it does not have to be repaid to the same person. Do it for the next one. When somebody newer than you gets it wrong, fix it and say nothing about who fixed it.
Whose quiet cover for your mistake could you repay now?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
