The first snowfall of the year turns every adult into a kid for about ten minutes. Go outside for those ten minutes.

GRATITUDE
The first snow briefly suspends the rules adults live by. For about ten minutes everybody stops being a person with responsibilities and goes to look at the weather, and then the shovelling and the traffic start and it does not happen again that winter. The window is short and it is genuinely open while it lasts. Most people spend it at a window watching the people who went out.
Go out during those ten minutes rather than watching them. Take whoever is nearest, adults included. Nobody regrets standing in the first snow, which is not true of much else.
When did you last see adults act like kids outside?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
