Some changes are microwave fast. The good ones are usually more like a slow cooker. Leave the lid on.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Lasting change needs undisturbed time, and attention counts as disturbance. Every time you lift the lid to check whether you feel different yet, you let the heat out and start the clock again, and the things that genuinely rearrange a person tend to show nothing at all for weeks. Fast change is real but shallow.

So pick something, give it six weeks, and resist both the checking and the announcing. No progress photos, no telling people, no asking yourself on Wednesday whether it is working. Look up at the end and see what happened.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you rushing that would work better left alone?
