You don’t change because someone yells at you. You change when you finally get curious about why you do what you do.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being shouted at produces compliance, not change. You get quieter, more careful, better at not being caught, and the behaviour goes underground while the reason for it sits untouched. What actually moves people is becoming interested in their own mechanism: what the habit gets you, what it is protecting, when it shows up.

So pick one thing you keep doing and get properly curious instead of ashamed. When does it happen, what comes right before, what does it spare you. You will usually find it is doing a job, and then you can find something better to do that job.
