You’ll mispronounce words learning a new language. Native speakers mostly just appreciate that you’re trying.

Getting a word wrong feels exposing and is almost never received the way you fear. Someone making an effort in a second language reads as respect, and most people respond by helping rather than judging. The small number who are unpleasant about it were going to be unpleasant about something.

Say the word you have been avoiding, out loud, to a person. Ask them to say it back so you can hear where it differs. Collect corrections rather than dodging the words you are unsure of.
