Saying “I’m not like that anymore” takes one sentence. Proving it takes months of nobody noticing.

Saying you have changed is instant and worth very little, because everybody has heard that sentence from somebody who had not. The actual change is a long stretch of behaving differently while the change is still invisible to the people around you. Credit arrives late, if at all, which is the part that makes it hard.
Stop making the claim and let the months do it. Keep the behaviour on the days when nobody is paying attention, which is most days. Judge it by whether you still recognise yourself in six months rather than by whether anyone has said so.
What have you claimed about yourself that still needs months of proof?
