An honor code only works on people who brought their own honor.

LEADERSHIP
A code on a wall has no enforcement mechanism, which is the point and also the weakness. It cannot create honesty, only give honest people a shared description of what they were already going to do. That does not make codes useless, because naming the standard out loud matters, but the actual work happens before you walk into the room.
Treat the pledge as a reminder rather than a restraint, and settle the real question privately: what you will do when the code is the only thing between you and an easy mark. Decide it once. Then the signature is just a signature and not a test.
Which rule holds for you without anybody enforcing it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
