A car hands you anonymity, armour and a steady supply of reasons to be impatient, which is why driving sorts people so efficiently. Whoever will not let anybody merge is the same person in a queue, a corridor or a group chat, with less protection in those places. Nothing new appears behind the wheel. The usual material just gets louder.

Pay attention to what you do when somebody needs a gap this week, whether you are driving, riding or walking. Let in one person you would normally have shut out. Then look for the same reflex without the car, since that is where it costs you something real.
