If your team only hears from you when something’s wrong, your voice starts to sound like an alarm.

LEADERSHIP
Attention that only arrives with criticism teaches people to brace when they see your name. Over time it changes the whole relationship: nobody brings you anything early, every conversation opens defensively, and the useful feedback you intended gets heard as an attack. The ratio matters more than the content of any single message.
Say something specific and positive to somebody this week when nothing at all is wrong. Not a general compliment, one actual thing you noticed. Keep going until your name stops being bad news.
Do people hear from you only when there is trouble?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
