If people only listen when you’re mad, you don’t have influence. You have a volume knob.

LEADERSHIP
Anger works as a tool for exactly as long as it stays unusual, and then it becomes the only setting anyone responds to. If nothing happens until you raise your voice, you have taught the group to wait for the shout, and your ordinary requests now mean nothing. That is not authority, it is a mechanism that needs escalation to keep working.
Notice whether your normal asks get acted on. If they do not, the repair is following up calmly and repeatedly rather than louder. Say a thing once, come back to it, and let that be what people learn.
Do people act on your words before you raise your voice?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
