A leader who never says “nice catch” to the person who spotted their mistake is training everyone to stay quiet.

People read how you take correction and adjust accordingly. If pointing out your error costs them anything, the next error sails straight through, and you lose your cheapest source of information. Thanking whoever caught it is not modesty for its own sake. It buys you the thing that keeps you from shipping something broken, and quiet in a group is usually a symptom rather than peace.
Next time somebody corrects you, say thanks before you say anything else, where others can hear it. Fix the thing, and mention who spotted it. Do that twice and people will start telling you.
How did you respond when someone caught your error?
