There is no reliable way to unsay something. Deletion does not remove what was read, retraction does not remove what was believed, and apologies do not remove what was repeated. Every disclosure should therefore be treated as final, because in practice it is. The moment before speaking is the only point of control you actually have.

Build in a small delay for anything sensitive, a night, an hour, a walk. Ask whether this would be fine to have permanently out. The delay costs almost nothing and prevents nearly all of the regret.
