Your title opens the door. How you treat people after that decides if they hold it open for you next time.

LEADERSHIP
A position gets you one round of cooperation. People follow the role for a while to see what you are like, and after that they are responding to you rather than the label. Everything you spend in that first stretch, in fairness or in favours, decides whether anyone wants you back. Titles expire; the reputation built inside one does not.
Think about who helped you because of your role rather than because of you, and even it up this week. Thank them specifically, or return the favour. Act like you will need these people once the title is gone.
Who helped you get somewhere and never heard from you again?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
