When you join a team mid-season, learn how they do things before you suggest how you’d do them.

Arriving with improvements signals that you assume the people already there had not thought of them. Usually they had, and there is a reason things are done this way that you cannot see from one week in. Waiting is not timidity. It is gathering enough information to be right, and suggestions land very differently once people know you understand what you are changing.
Give yourself a couple of weeks of asking why before you propose anything. Write your ideas down instead of saying them, and read the list again later. Some will be wrong and the rest will be better.
Did you suggest changes before understanding why things worked that way?
