Boredom is where curiosity starts. Killing it with your phone every time has a cost.

CREATIVITY
Curiosity needs a gap to appear in. Boredom is that gap: an unoccupied mind starts turning things over, noticing oddities, asking questions nobody set. Fill every empty minute with a screen and the gap never opens, which is why so many people feel they have simply stopped finding things interesting. Nothing has actually been lost except the conditions it needed in order to show up.
Leave one part of your day unfilled this week: the bus, the queue, ten minutes before sleep. Keep the phone in your pocket and let it be dull. Notice where your mind goes when nothing is handed to it.
When was the last time you let yourself just be bored?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
