Every expert you admire has a folder of embarrassing early attempts. They just don’t post it.

The version of anybody good that reaches you is the filtered one, the part that survived. Their early work existed, it was clumsy, and it was necessary, because nobody travels from nothing to fluent without a stretch of bad output. Measuring your first tries against someone’s highlights compares two different stages of the same process.

Keep your rough attempts somewhere instead of deleting them. In three months they stop being evidence against you and start being proof. Make one thing this week that you have no intention of showing anybody.
