Follow your curiosity into a weird documentary at 11pm. Then go to bed. Both are part of learning.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Both halves matter, and people usually only hear one of them. Following a late impulse into something strange is how you find the subjects nobody assigned you. Sleep is what files the discovery, and an interest you chased until two in the morning is an interest you will remember badly.

Let yourself take the odd path on a weeknight, and set an end time before you start. Forty minutes of something unexpected and a normal bedtime is a better deal than either one on its own.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What odd thing did you stay up late reading about recently?
