Being misunderstood is frustrating; misunderstanding yourself is expensive.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being misread by others costs you a conversation. Misreading yourself costs you years, because every decision after that point is made from an inaccurate map. You choose work that suits someone you are not, relationships that fit a version of you that never existed, and then wonder why the good things do not feel good.

Check one belief you hold about your own nature, particularly one you inherited young, against how you actually behave now. Look at the evidence rather than the story. Correcting the map is unglamorous work, but everything downstream of it improves.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What have you misread about yourself for a long time?
