A rushed agreement usually benefits whoever needed patience less.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Speed favors whoever can afford to wait. When one side is under a deadline and the other is not, the terms drift toward the patient party without anyone doing anything clever, simply because time is doing the work. Rushing is therefore rarely neutral. It is usually a transfer of value to the person with fewer constraints.

Before agreeing quickly, ask whose deadline is driving this and whether it is real. If it is not yours, slow down. If it is, try to create time before you negotiate rather than accepting terms shaped by the clock.
