You’ll look back on your first day at a new job and barely recognize the nervous person who walked in.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Getting good at a job happens faster than you expect, and quietly. The things that terrify you on day one, the phone, the till, the names, become automatic within a few weeks, and because the change is gradual you never notice the moment it happened. Looking back is the only way to see the distance. The nervous version of you was not weak, just early.
Write down three things that scare you about something new before you start. Put the note somewhere and read it after a month. It is the cheapest proof you will ever get that fear is about unfamiliarity rather than ability.
How nervous were you on a first day you now shrug at?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
