Everybody’s hometown is somebody else’s middle of nowhere.

REFLECTION
Importance is positional. The town you find unbearably ordinary is somewhere a person from a different ordinary place would find exotic, and the city you envy is where somebody is bored right now. There is no objective center. Everyone stands at the middle of their own map and squints at the edges of everyone else’s.
Describe your town to someone who has never been there and watch which details they stop you on. They are rarely the ones you would have picked. Where you live is a specific place, not the absence of one.
Whose hometown have you dismissed as the middle of nowhere?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
